Song of the Week

Zack and I were given some iTunes gift cards for Christmas and I have finally found them once again to use! I found a new song that I really like and I thought I would share it with you! I first heard it on the Nivea lotion commercials, then on the radio and I decided I really liked it. So here it is for you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. It is the acoustic version, just relaxing.

Oh, it is by a band called Parachute and it is called 'She is Love'.

Moochers Needed

I like to bake. This is no secret. I often find myself making cookies, brownies, cakes, etc. just because. Who doesn't like having sweets in the house? Well, when I lived with my family or roommates there were PLENTY of people to eat them and get rid of them quickly. I just finished a batch of chocolate chip cookies which are delicious, but now I have 4 dozen cookies and 2 of us to eat them. Zack and I can only do so much, although it is a lot, it still isn't enough. I need my roommates back to eat them all and pretend like they didn't. No need for me to put my own secret stash of cookies hidden away in the kitchen somewhere.

This could be a great way for my neighbors to get to know and love us. I just hope I don't become the 'cookie lady' like Monica.

If you are in the neighborhood (or not, whatever) come on by and grab some!

Genius

I just wanted to brag for him. Zack took his Genetics test on Friday and scored 100%. That is right, didn't miss a single question. Genetics is no easy class mind you. I think the rest of you can agree with me that we are happy this man could be your doctor some day. Way to go Zack!! I wish I had that test to put up on my fridge, but since I don't this is second best!

Weather

I am totally enjoying the warm weather we have been experiencing in Utah lately. Even when I walk out the door at 6:50am, it hasn't been too terribly cold. I am happy that I feel like spring is making a comeback!

This time of year (weather wise) is always a bit strange. In the morning you may need a coat and then come afternoon you want to be out in your t-shirt, shorts, and flip flops. Utah-ners totally think it is OK to wear flip flops in 40 degree weather. No problem with that!

Anyway, this temperature thing messes with my body. Sunday night I was freezing as I slept and yet last night I could barely sleep because I was so hot. Too many blankets and the temperature outside is improving. What to do???

Somedays I wish I had one of these:

Others I wish I was wearing this:

Just for the record I think I would totally love a snuggie, as dumb as it looks. I think it is a fantastic idea.

Spring can't come soon enough! I hope the groundhog was wrong!

It Will Grow Back, Right?!??

So here it is! I finally cut it after all of these years. And the verdict? I hate it. It probably is because I have no idea how to do short hair. And with this particular style I feel like it is the kind that has to be 'done' every day. Which is hard for me. I am used to pulling it back into a cute pony about every other day. It is very weird for me to brush my hair or shampoo it and realize more than half of it is gone. So, if you have styling tips now on how to do short hair, now is the time to share them!!

I cut off a whole 10 inches and was able to donate it to Locks of Love, so at least my tears of sadness can be tears of joy to some cute girl who can now 'have hair' again. Anyway, it will grow back right? I hear pre-natal vitamins help your hair grow faster. Any other tips on that? Thanks! Feel free to comment about how beautiful it is to boost my confidence ;)

Unisom

Most people tend to have nights where they just didn't sleep well. For me, since I have been married this has happened quite frequently. I am not sure if it is just because Zack is next to me to notice and tell me the next morning that I tossed and turned like crazy, or if me knowing he is there does something in my subconsience to make me sleep funky or what. Anyway, this has been going on for awhile now. I got a text from Zack today while I was at school and this is what it said, "Did you sleep ok last night?" Translation= you slept like a crazy freak last night, thanks for also keeping me up. But of course, he would never say that. He is sweet.

So, to try to solve this problem, I went to the store today to buy Unisom. According to internet sources, this works well and didn't leave people feeling drowsy and tired in the morning. So I thought I would at least give it a try for mine and Zack's sanity. Cross your fingers for me!

Who Knew?

So far in my student teaching experience, I usually am a recluse and decide to eat lunch in classroom. I mean, why not? It has 3 refridgerators, 6 stoves, 6 microwaves, etc. I think you see where im going here. When your classroom is the foods room, no need to roam.

Well, today I didn't bring leftovers or anything else to eat so I decided to brave the lunchroom. I made my way there and I was hoping I would have some sort of 'Mr. Holland's Opus' experience where the gym coach would come up to me and tell me that teachers don't wait and that I could proceed to the front of the line. WRONG. I continue to wait for about 20 minutes to get my lunch and, as I did this, I started to feel like such a loser. It is amazing how when i'm 5 years out of high school and this time on the other side, that it it still had such an effect on me. Who knew?

I did have a good time people watching and seeing where my students fit it. One of them saw me standing there and waved at me. I took this as a good sign that im 'cool' enough and even now at 23, I felt good to be waved at in the lunchroom.

Till next time!

Wedding Photos!

My Mom and Dad as well as Zack's Dad were so great to follow Zack and I around on our wedding day while we got our pictures taken. I think they liked seeing what we were doing and what our photographer told us to do. My Dad had our camera and took a bunch of the same pictures as our photographer so here are some of them if you wanted to see our big day. Also, I posted them to my facebook account so if you want to view all of them click HERE.

Decision Time

Alright, time to speak up!! I really need your help. Ok, here it is- I am going to cut my hair. If you know me, you know that I never do this. At least an actual CUT. Trims yes, and even then it really is only about every 6 months (awful, I know, get over it).

Every time I cut my hair I hate it. I only like it long. But it has been this same cut and style since lets be honest, 9th grade? I think I can switch things up. My trouble is that it is thin, and has no body. I could NEVER EVER do anything shorter than my shoulders- so keep those ideas quiet.

I know when I FINALLY get the urge to do it, I'll hate it. But I always said that after my wedding (whenever that was) I would cut it. Well, time is here! What do you think I should do? Oh, and I don't dye. I like my hair color, and I'm cheap. :)

Superbowl Party!!

For Superbowl XLIII we threw a party! Zack had never watched a superbowl before and I always like to throw a party, so we did!

We had a blast! We had lots of friends over and we had a great time. We loved watching the commercials. I think our favorite was the Doritos crystal ball one. We also enjoyed watching The Office after as well. Here are some shots of the fun!

Cheering on the teams for the touchdown!

The 6-layer bean dip! I omitted the olives-gross!!
