Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy Birthday to the Greatest Dad!!
My Dad is THE hardest worker I know, hands down!
One time I asked him why he works as hard as he does, and he replied that
it was so he could give everything to his family.  Such a sweet guy!
My Dad is always calling me to see how Zack and I are doing
and always pumps us up full of good things making us think
we are the best/smartest in the world.

When I was little my Dad used to take me and my sister
on Daddy-Daughter dates to Dairy Queen
and we could pick any blizzard that we want!
Even now that I'm on my own and married, he still
gives me any spare change he has just to give us MORE stuff!
He is also the most humble man that I know!
When asked what he wanted for his birthday (and I FORCED) him
to tell me something rather than his usual reply of "nothing"
He told me he wanted a new scripture marking pencil.
Better believe I got him the nicest one there is!

My Dad would do anything for my Mom or his family!
I hope one day that I can even be half as good of a person as my Dad is!
I love you Dad!  I hope we have many more birthday's to come :)

My Funny Valentine

Zack and I had a great time together this Valentines day! We made home-made chocolate covered strawberries and made each other candy grams instead of the traditional card. Here are the final results!

Here is the candy gram I wrote for Zack
It says:

I Cara (caramello bar) lot for you.
I know that sometimes I'm a Sour Patch
but you are my Life Saver, always there to pick me up.
You be-Twix me with your Starburst eyes.
Thanks for choosing me, even with my Milky (way) skin,
I promise I won't Bite (Twizzlers Bites) you.
Forget Mike&Ike- you're the only one for me
In this Symphony called life.
Love your sexy Mamba.

Here is Zack with the candy gram he wrote for me!

Zack's ashamed of his, so he removed the caption.

Yes, they are cheesy, but I love them and think they are hilarious!

The Niederhausers

Yesterday I had the day off of work (hooray for furlough day!!)  so I decided to join my mom and head up to Mountain Green to meet my new niece Emery Jane!  I had a great time playing with the boys and holding cute little Emery.  Even at 5 lbs 5 oz. she still has a tiny double chin- so cute!

Major, Emery and Mitt with their favorite Auntie Em!
When I was there, the boys were interested in my necklace.  So, I saw an opportunity and took it!  I explained to Mitt that the jewels on my necklace were the following:
-Heart of a Lion
-Tooth from a Sabertooth Tiger
-Heart of a Goat
-And a shark tooth

Mitt thought this was VERY cool (who wouldn't?!) and decided to make himself a paper necklace just like mine.  He said all mine was missing was a deer antler, which he made for me.  So sweet!  Here is Mitt showing off his awesome necklace.

Thanks for letting me come hang out for the day Niederhausers!

Love is in the Air

I apologize for my hiatus from blogging...I just haven't had a whole lot to blog about I guess!  I just wanted to share with you my birthday present that I finally mounted up on the wall!!  The front room to our apt. has 4 large white WHITE walls. Three of those walls are well decorated but I still had a vast blank white wall.  I HATE white walls and I cannot wait until I live somewhere where I can paint :)  It will be probably 10 years, but hey, a girl can dream right?!  I digress...

Anyway, here is my present on the wall along with our Valentine's decor.  I love it!  Oh, and the pictures are new too.  1.2 years later and we finally had some wedding photos of us!

This week I was also able to hold Enrichment (aka R.S. Meeting) at my home this week.  In keeping with February's 'love' theme, we decided to have it on The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman.  I lead the discussion as well, and I hope that it went ok!  We had a pretty good turn out and had a lot of fun.  I also made bookmarks as a 'take-home' for them.  After the lesson we feasted on some frosted heart-shaped sugar cookies.

What is your love language?  Do you know?  You can take the quiz online- its pretty quick and interesting!

Lastly, I found this little gem on my camera. I put Zack in charge of taking pictures of me while I opened presents and at cake with my family.

Uh............................nobody told me that I look like this when blowing out candles.  Looks like I'll have to skip this tradition next year.  I look like such a fool- who knew?!  I hope you get a good laugh out of this- I sure did.
