Home Made Jam

My mother and grandmother would be proud.  Not only did I make my own jam, but I used containers that I saved and washed out.  This time I used baby jars but I also find myself keeping the containers from butter, cottage cheese, sour cream, etc.  My grandma Watkins was the Queen of saving everything and my mom told me it was because she grew up during the depression and was taught to save it all.  Well I didn't grow up during the depression but I still would agree that Tupperware is expensive!  I guess I'm making Mother Earth proud too :)

  2. you are a great homemaker. i love it! :) we save a ton of our jars - PB, you name. we use them as drinking glasses.

and that link is pretty hilarious. i think it's pretty great, tho, too and think it would do wonders for the husbands if we women (or at least me!) could be a little more like that. not totally, but close. . .

  5. I just made strawberry freezer jam this week too! Ha ha, it's in our blood.

The article attached to that link was interested. I didn't realize how fabricated that list was...or exaggerated might be a better word. Times were definitely different back then. Now if we do home-maker things it's more of a choice...not as much an expectation from society. I wonder if that makes it easier or harder?
