My Mom is Famous!

At least she is to me :)  For as long as I can remember, my Mom has been a member of the 'Gone to Pieces' quilt group.  This is a group of women who get together every Tuesday (or when they can) for lunch, visiting, and of course- quilting!!  This is one TALENTED group of women!

So, why is she famous you might ask?!  Well, this SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25TH is their annual Quilt Show in the Barn.  And when I say Barn, this isn't your average barn.  It is nicer than any home I'll ever have.  Honestly.  A newspaper article was done to feature these fine women in the Desert News this week.  You can read the awesome article HERE.

Every 2 years the quilt group puts on their barn show to showcase all their hard work!  They also have some crafts for purchase and a raffle quilt up for grabs!  The best part of their show is that ALL the money they raise from the show is donated to The Road Home women's shelter downtown.

So please COME support my Mom and her friends this Saturday if you can come!!

Where: 2520 Walker Lane, Holladay UT
When: Saturday, September 25th from 10am-5pm
Cost: $5, with ALL proceeds going to The Road Home women's shelter

I mean, look how cute and talented they are!!  This quilt here is the same quilt up for raffle!  My Mom is the pretty lady on the far left in the pink shirt!  Woo- go Mom!!

  7. because i don't know if i have your right email i will post this here and if you think it's tmi you can delete it. hahahha.

well long story short is this: my husb lost his job in may. worst. and so we've been on a budg ever since. texas was good. but not great as far as money so we have to resist. so lets be serious you could go CRAZY with all the baby stuff. crazy. and have you ever been to USA BABY (it's on redwood and like 5600 south by schmidts bakery) well they have teh cutest baby stuff of all time so you should just walk in and get an idea and have your expert mom sew you up the stuff. or you. you're good too i'm sure. i mean CRAFT SPECIALEST 2007.

anyway. so we decided though her room would be so fun to go ALL out and spend all kinds on. paying our mortgage was more important. and seriously you could spend THOUSANDS of dollars just on decorations. :) anyway.

so i've had all my showers except for one (the best one probably because it's geckos family side and they SPOIL me rotten) but we waited until now to really decide what we needed. (i know two weeks away and we still don't have everything). you will not need clothes. so no matter how tempting DO NOT BUY CLOTHES! because everyone loves buying clothes FOR YOU. jerks. jkjkjkjk. seriously though.

we did buy a car seat, actually that was a gift my mom got us. which we figured was a MUST because what if i have baby rubes early? right. and it's actually not even here yet (we ordered online). but other BIG things (like strollers, bouncers, high chairs, etc...) we are waiting. we are probably going to buy a pack n' play for a basinett because ruby needs somewhere to sleep for when she gets there. there is a lady in geck's ward that had a new bouncer so she just gave us that. leslie has like 20 strollers because she has two kids under two so i think we're going to borrow one of hers until i decide WHICH stroller to get because tehre are like 300 and i like to think i'm super ambitious and will use a jogging stroller but can't afford the investment until i decide i really will do it.

anyway. so i love you. can't wait for baby girl liberty. when are you due? and what is her name and sorry about this as a comment rather then an email. creep fest.

    love you.
