At least she is to me :) For as long as I can remember, my Mom has been a member of the 'Gone to Pieces' quilt group. This is a group of women who get together every Tuesday (or when they can) for lunch, visiting, and of course- quilting!! This is one TALENTED group of women!
So, why is she famous you might ask?! Well, this SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25TH is their annual Quilt Show in the Barn. And when I say Barn, this isn't your average barn. It is nicer than any home I'll ever have. Honestly. A newspaper article was done to feature these fine women in the Desert News this week. You can read the awesome article HERE.
Every 2 years the quilt group puts on their barn show to showcase all their hard work! They also have some crafts for purchase and a raffle quilt up for grabs! The best part of their show is that ALL the money they raise from the show is donated to The Road Home women's shelter downtown.
So please COME support my Mom and her friends this Saturday if you can come!!
Where: 2520 Walker Lane, Holladay UT
When: Saturday, September 25th from 10am-5pm
Cost: $5, with ALL proceeds going to The Road Home women's shelter
I mean, look how cute and talented they are!! This quilt here is the same quilt up for raffle! My Mom is the pretty lady on the far left in the pink shirt! Woo- go Mom!!

Idea Proposal: Quiet Book
THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR VOLUNTEERING!! I THINK WE ARE SET WITH THE # OF PEOPLE INTERESTED- SO, I'M CLOSING THIS PROJECT UP!
A little over a year ago my wonderful sisters and cousins all participated in a quiet book swap. Me, being an idiot, opted not to participate since I thought, 'I don't have kids'. Well one day soon, I will. I should have anticipated that and joined in, but I didn't.

This brings us to the present day. I now want a quiet book. I would like to do it with the help of other talented people WHO CAN SEW.
So, if you feel this is something you want to participate, please leave a comment :) Each participant will mass-produce one page (maybe 2 depending on how many we get). Each page will involve a different 'activity' like lacing, buttons, braiding, tieing, buckling, zipping, telling time, snapping, pockets, etc.
There are MANY more details to be discussed, but for right now I just want an idea of who wants to participate. Below are some photos from the book I mentioned previously for you to get excited about making/having one!
Isn't it so cool? Who wouldn't want one?!
